Rene Rietmeyer, 1957

Dutch painter

Rietmeyers Boxes refer to regions or persons, they do not simply reproduce visual representational images of the subjects, they create an atmosphere. They represent the artist in relation to the subject.

The Boxes transport Rietmeyers emotional relationship with the subject using size, shape, color, texture, composition and a conscious choice of the materials. Each series contains a specific amount of Boxes, installations can be made from any number of Boxes out of that specific series.
